This 2 cm (0.78 inch) wide t-shirt yarn is a 35% cotton and 65% polyester blend. It comes in 100-gram rolls and works well for beginners making soft, strong items like clutch and tote bags as well as baskets and accent rugs.

When calculating your yardage required for these projects, we are finding that you need the following amounts.

Estimate for a crochet or knit:

Clutch purse (Approx. 10" x 6") will require approximately 1-2 skeins.

Small Basket (Approx. 6" x 6"): Needs about 1 to 2 skeins (33 – 66 yards)

Medium Tote Bag (Approx. 12" x 14"): Needs about 3 to 4 skeins (99 – 132 yards).

Small Accent Rug (Approx. 24" x 36"): Needs about 7 to 9 skeins (231 – 297 yards).

Crocheting will use more yarn than knitting as it creates a dense, sturdy fabric so be sure to plan accordingly so you don't run short on your yarn. Usually an extra skein is desired when crocheting.
