Our shipping policy:
The Yarn and Fiber Company is pleased to offer free shipping to all destinations with some restrictions restrictions are based on our actual shipping costs. Orders that do not qualify for free shipping are eligible for a discounted shipping rate which is displayed at the time of checkout.
Our prices are low and shipping costs are high so not all orders will qualify, larger orders are more likely to qualify than small orders. To verify if your order qualifies just click on the "Secure Checkout" button, log on or create an account and follow the few steps to get to the shipping page. Books, magazines and inexpensive commercial yarns are generally too heavy to qualify for free shipping. See our support pages for latest information.
Some orders will also qualify for discounted priority shipping. If your order qualifies this will be displayed on the shipping page.
We reserve the right to use alternative shipping on priority mail orders if multiple shipments are required due to items being out of stock. Items will be shipped as they arrive at our warehouse. Please check your account page for the status on any order.
Patterns delivered as PDF Downloads or Paper Copies:
All patterns are final sale. Purchased PDF patterns, revisions and corrections to published PDF files may be downloaded from your "My Account - View downloadable patterns I have purchased". Patterns delivered as Printed Documents are subject to shipping charges and errata is available on the manufacturers web site. The sale of a PDF Download cannot be cancelled after purchasing. PDF Downloads do not contribute to the cost of shipping an order that contains other items, however it can increase any shipping discount available. PDF Patterns are protected by International Copyright and are intended for personal use and must not be reproduced, copied or sold to any third parties.
If You Have A Problem with a Shipment:
In the unlikely event that we ship you the wrong product or wrong quantity of a product please let us know immediately and we will rectify the problem as soon as possible. Please follow our instructions carefully when returning products to avoid problems.
If we have shipped you a package and you have not received it within 2 weeks (6 weeks overseas) or have a problem with the order feel free to contact us by viewing your order at "My Account" and choosing the appropriate option at the bottom of the order. Please check with your post office before reporting a package missing. Overseas packages customs numbers begin with LC and can be found in your order status under "My Account".
Special Order Products:
If you order a product that is not in stock you will normally be notified before you place your order and in most cases it will be special ordered for you, and you will be charged for the order. In these cases please be aware that we need to order the product from our distributors and this takes between several days and several weeks, and is not under our control. This is a service we provide for your convenience that is both time consuming and expensive, we do not pass these extra charges on to you the customer. Please be patient, and allow at least two weeks before enquiring as to the status of your order. Orders that cannot be reasonably filled, or have not shipped within 6 weeks will normally be cancelled and a full refund issued at this time. If you have any questions please call the store Monday-Friday during normal business hours (EST) at the number at the bottom of this page.
Hand Dyed Yarns:
Preferably before ordering, but certainly before returning hand dyed yarns because they are the wrong color, please remember that hand dyed yarns will never be exactly the colors represented on a monitor, or even the same, in many cases, colors as you may have purchased elsewhere or from us previously. This does not mean we have shipped the wrong color, or changed the label or any other strange happening. Simply that hand dyed yarns can be very inconsistant. We are happy to take back any yarn meeting the requirements of our return policy below.
Our Return Policy is as Follows:
We understand that a yarn or fiber purchased online may not have the feel or the right color as expected when viewing on a monitor - we are fiber enthusiasts too! Because of this, we offer a full refund for all yarn returns received back by us if product is in same condition as received within two weeks of shipping date from our shop. Although we do not charge a restocking fee all shipping costs associated with returned items [in both directions] are the responsibility of the customer. We recommend that you return any items using a tracking number to eliminate any confusion as to our receipt of your item.
We also encourage you to purchase adequate quantity for your project without risking running out of yarn, so we will accept partial order yarn returns within a six month period from original shipping date and a full value merchandise credit will be issued for a Yarn and Fiber Company future purchase. If you return yarn or fiber that was purchased between six months to one year from original purchase date, a merchandise credit valued at 50% of the original yarn price paid will be issued. All returns must be in original/saleable condition.
All books, patterns, needles, notions, fabric, and other non-yarn items are final sale. No exceptions. All sale items are final sale only.
Cancelled Orders:
All cancellations, which must be received before shipment, will be processed and a refund issued (if applicable) within 14 business days. After shipment orders are subject to our normal return policy. For your convenience you may cancel an unshipped order using the view order option at "My Account"
For all returns (and cancellations), please view your order at "My Account" and use the options at the bottom of the order to request a return authorization number or cancel an unshipped order. If you have difficulty with this you may call the store at . We recommend that you return any items using a tracking number to eliminate any confusion as to our receipt of your item.
